3U 3Slot Open VPX Backplane

Open-VPX provides a versatile, high-speed architecture utilizing the rugged Eurocard form factor. There are backwards-compatibility options with VME/64x with hybrid backplanes.

As VITA 65 (VITA 65.0 and VITA 65.1) OpenVPX backplanes are based upon specific configuration profiles, many designs are customized. However, Rug-Rel offers the 3U VPX configuration as off-the-shelf. Other VPX derivations include VITA 46 (base VPX), VITA 66 for optical, and VITA 67 for RF.

VME64x Extensions backplanes from rugrel are available in a 6U/7U Form factor,from 1 to 21 slots wide,and with or without po connectors.VME64x incorporates 5 row,160 way DIN connector which provides extra I/O and signal lines but also backward compatability with traditional VME bus system that use the 96way DIN interconnect.

DESCRIPTION:

The Rug-Rel VME64x backplane is designed to completely comply with the ANSI/VITA VME Extensions Standards. we have implemented all standard Features for VME64x compatability,including 160-pin VME extensions connectors in J1 AND J2,all defined ground pins Connected to a ground Plane,routing and termination of all VME and VME64x bussed signal lines,geographic adress pins,distributions of +5V,+3.3V,+/-12V,+/-V1,+-V2, and VPC all on a Single monolithic printed circuit board with J1 and J2 Included.

6U/7U backplane is an integrated backplane that include J1 and J2 backplane in one printed circuit Board.6U/7U backplane has continuous plane power plane.The power distibute performence is better than J1 and J2 backplane.for new system wii use J2 backplane.it is strongly recommended to use 6U/7U backplane,in addition,we have included active,electronic IACK/BUSGRANT daisy chainging standard;onboard,inboard termination;distributed high frequency capacitor for each slot,distributed low frequency capacitor;five signal layers,five power and ground planes.

Rug-Rel constructs the board in ten layers-five signal layers,five power and ground planes.we incorporate full strip line design,sufficiently distributed decoupling capacitors,inboard termination,2 oz power and ground planes,transient analysis simulation programm.we could use few layers,but we use this design to isolate each signal layer so our backplanes provide superior performance.

Our standard design Features three 2 oz. copper ground planes,that fully shield the backplane,minimize EMI/RFI emissions susceptibility,minimize crosstalk,and maximize power distribution.in addition,the robust outer ground layers provide mechanical EMI/RFI protection for the backplane.

Two 2.oz Copper VCC Planes,allow us to maximize power Distribution while they act as virtual ground planes for the signals in order to minimize noise and crosstalk.The high frequency decoupling capacitors at every slot and distributed low frequency electrolytic capacitors across the board also help this effort.
